From Zimbabwe to Botswana

We flew from Johannesburg, South Africa to Zimbabwe and then drove from Zimbabwe to Botswana. Zimbabwe is a mess and I'll post more about that later. Botswana has their act together and you feel it. It was lovely there. I felt very safe and comfortable. I'd highly recommend and I'd go back there in a heart beat!

Botswana provides beef to Europe so they work really hard to make sure that we don't bring in "foot and mouth" disease. The country of Botswana is divided into different zones when dealing with their cattle farming. The "zone" we were in might farm cattle but they wouldn't ship it outside of the country. When walking across the border, we had to sterilize our shoes in case we brought in any "foot and mouth" disease.

Here I am cleaning my shoes making sure I don't bring in the foot and mouth disease. What about the shoes in my bag?

The sign on the right says: Botswana has ZERO tolerance for corruption. Very fitting coming from Zimbabwe.

Here we are walking across the border from Zimbabwe to Botswana.
